NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FERNDALE CITY COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given that the Ferndale City Council will hold a special meeting for the purpose of discussing wall design for the Thornton Street Overcrossing on August 19, 2019 at the City of Ferndale Council Chambers, located at 5694 Second Avenue. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. This is an Open Public Meeting as outlined by the Open Public Meetings Act, and members of the public are invited to attend and observe.

Notice Traffic Revisions and Possible Delays: Friday, August 16, 2019, 7am to 7pm
LaBounty Drive, between Nordic Way and West Smith Road
Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane traffic on LaBounty Drive, between Nordic Way and West Smith Road on Friday, August, 16, 2019 from 7:00am to 7:00pm. This work is to complete road improvements associated with a private development project. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

A new playground is coming to Cedar Creek Park, off of Apollo and Aquarius north of Thornton Road. The new play equipment, which will be installed on the south side of the creek adjacent to the sidewalk, includes a Jupiter rope climber, log walk and a slide.
Installation will begin in September 2019 with the park open for use starting in October 2019.
The Ferndale Arts Commission seeks volunteers to help with their Downtown Mural Project on Aug. 17th and 18th.

Help install alley murals on the alley between Second and Third Avenue on the south side of Main Street, next to US Bank. Check out the volunteer slots below, sign up and show up. The murals will be completed as swiftly as possible based on the number of volunteers so make sure to show up early in the shift so you don’t miss out. At their Aug. 5th, 2019 council meeting, the City Council adopted a greenhouse gas reduction policy that put in place a number of best practices, goals and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and better ensure the resilience of our community to climate change.
