1pm – 4:30pm              Westbound Lane and Sidewalk Closures
*Times are approximate

1-2 lanes of Main Street (including sidewalks) between Hovander Rd. and Walgreens will be closed at a time. Which specific lanes are open/closed will shift throughout the project. Traffic on Main St. will be lane shifted through the closure zone and assisted by flaggers.

The left turn from Main St. onto Hovander Road will be open to standard vehicles.

The left turn from Main St. onto Hovander Road will be closed to large trucks. Large trucks wanting to turn left onto Hovander Road must instead loop through downtown and approach the turn from the west (right turn) side.

Hovander Road
At times, the right turn lane from Hovander Road onto eastbound Main Street may be closed.

Sidewalks in the work zone will be closed and signage will direct pedestrians around the work zone. Flaggers will be on site directing traffic through the work zone.

This one-day closure is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th. This closure is for work associated with a BNSF Railway Bridge inspection.

Citywide Crack Sealing Starting May 14th

Over the next few weeks, City of Ferndale Public Works will be taking advantage of the dry weather to perform road maintenance and crack sealing throughout the City. This work helps prevent water infiltration into the subgrade, which can weaken the foundation of the road.
Crack sealing work will be done in small sections of roadway at a time and should only cause brief disruptions. It is important to know that this work can be noisy and dusty. If any dust or debris ends up on your vehicle, please do not wipe it off as the dust can scratch paint; it is best to rinse the dust using water. If you have any questions or concerns, contact City of Ferndale Public Works at (360) 384-4006.
Larger projects will be signed and flagged. Expect to see crews doing pavement crack sealing on Church Road and Main Street (east of the river) this week (May 14-17), dependent on weather and crew availability.
