The City recognizes that there will be wide varieties in traffic volumes depending on time of year, day, vehicular accidents, community events, rail traffic, weather, etc. The City and its consultants/ partnering agencies seek to re-evaluate conditions on a regular basis in order to account for these fluctuations.
The City is primarily focused on maintaining the street system to preserve life-safety at all times, regardless of volume, and to provide sufficient capacity to respond to the reasonable highest traffic periods, typically found between 4 and 6pm on weekdays.
