The Zombie Fun Run is an annual, FREE, fun run for community members of all ages, brought to you by the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Trails Advisory Board!

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, unleash your inner survivor and join us for Ferndale’s 2nd Annual Zombie Fun Run!

It is sure to be a thrilling adventure that is open to EVERYONE – whether you’re a seasoned pro, new to the track, a dedicated jogger, a leisurely walker, or a zombie shuffler.

DATE: Saturday, October 12, 2024

LOCATION: Register, Start, and Finish at Pioneer Pavilion Community Center (2007 Cherry St., Ferndale)

CHECK IN AND/OR REGISTRATION: 9:00 a.m.

KIDS’ SHUFFLE: 9:45 a.m.

ZOMBIE FUN RUN: 10 a.m.

The course will begin at Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, leading participants past Metalworks Skate Park to the Hanadori Trail, around the P66 Sports Complex, through Pioneer Village, and back to the Pavilion. This year, Zombie Fun Run participants can choose their own adventure: 1 lap, 2 laps, or 3 laps for a full 5K.

Please note, this course includes gravel trails, potentially running through grass, and goes through Pioneer Village where no dogs are permitted.

If you’re feeling a bit undead yourself, there’s a unique opportunity to register as a zombie and join the horde!

On the registration form, please indicate whether you would like to participate as a runner or a volunteer zombie. All volunteers must register by Friday, October 4, 2024. Volunteers will be sent a separate email on Friday, October 4th with volunteer instructions. Volunteers should plan on being at the event from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in zombie attire. Zombies will NOT be allowed to make physical contact with runners and are not meant to “chase,” but to “shuffle.” This is a FUN RUN!

By entering your name above, you are acknowledging you have read the following release and waiver of liability: In consideration of my voluntary participation in the Zombie Fun Run on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in partnership with the City of Ferndale (hereinafter referred to as “the City”) at Ferndale, WA (hereinafter referred to as the "City Event,") I, acknowledge that participation in the City Event involves certain risks of physical injury and/or death. Being fully informed as to these risks and in consideration of being allowed to participate in the City Event, I hereby acknowledge that my participation is voluntary, and I assume all risk of injury, damage and harm to myself arising from such activities and participation in the City Event. I also hereby individually and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators and assignees, hereby release and hold harmless the City and its officials, members, employees, representatives, agents, directors, sponsors, organizers, volunteers, and any other person acting on behalf of the City, and hereby waive any right of recovery I might have to bring a claim or a lawsuit against them for any personal injury, death, loss of property or property damage, or any other damage or consequences of any kind whatsoever occurring to me arising out of my participation in the City Event, except for those caused by the sole negligence of the City. I have read and understood everything written above, and I voluntarily sign this waiver and release on my own behalf. (If the participant is under 18 years of age, the signature of a parent or guardian of the participant is required in addition to that of the participant.)
