Updated 2:00 p.m., September 3 – City phones are working again. Thank you for your patience.
The City’s IT service provider has informed us of a connectivity issue that is impacting all city phones. They are working diligently to resolve the issue and the City will post an update as soon as the problem is fixed. Emergency services are still available by dialing 9-1-1.
Heads up! City of Ferndale and Whatcom County Public Works will be striping the streets in the Ferndale area this Friday, August 30th.
Signs and cones will be utilized to keep drivers out of the wet paint and No Parking signs will be going up in various locations in order to maintain access to paint areas.
Drivers can protect their car from damage by keeping an eye out for striping crews and avoiding lane changes on freshly painted lines. If you happen to drive through wet paint, it can be removed immediately by using soap and water as the paint is water based. Please drive cautiously and provide plenty of space for crews when driving through a work zone.
City Offices will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, in honor of Labor Day. The regularly scheduled City Council Meeting will instead be held on Tuesday, September 3rd.
As always, emergency services can be reached by dialing 9-1-1. City Offices will be open again on Tuesday, September 3rd for regular business hours.
Drivers should plan to detour as Thornton Street will be CLOSED between Della Drive and Pacific Heights Drive on Monday, August 26th and Tuesday, August 27th. The detour route around the closure uses Church Rd, Main St/Mountainview Rd, and Olson Rd.
Sidewalks on both sides of the street will be closed inside the work zone. This closure occurs prior to the start of the school year so should not impact student school routes.
The traffic revision is expected to last for two days, Monday, August 26th and Tuesday, August 27th. Work hours are 7am to 7pm each day.
This traffic revision is for work associated with a private development project.
Drivers should expect delays as the area near 6482 Portal Way, between Trigg Rd and Kaas Rd, will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic from Monday, August 19th – Thursday, August 22nd. The traffic revision is in effect weekdays between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.
This work associated with a private development project.
Notice is hereby given that the City Council Committee meetings for Wednesday, August 14, 2024 and the regular City Council meeting for Monday, August 19, 2024 are cancelled. The next regular meeting of the Ferndale City Council will be on Tuesday, September 3.
