Brief Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Ferndale Suspect
On 10/18/2022 at approximately 1:30 pm, Ferndale Police were advised that Jade Garza was in the 5300 block of LaBounty Dr in Ferndale, WA.
Ferndale Police were aware that Jade Garza was wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant and that he was known to carry a firearm.
As law enforcement arrived in the area, Jade Garza fled in a vehicle. The vehicle was subsequently located in the 2300 block of Douglas Rd. Officers were able to observe Jade Garza in an apartment that law enforcement knew to be Garza’s residence.
Due to the severity of the warrant and Garza known to be armed, traffic to the area was blocked off and additional officers were called in. Once the area was secured, police were able to communicate with Garza. With the assistance of family members, Jade Garza eventually agreed to surrender without incident.
Multiple agencies responded to this incident, including the Ferndale Police Department, the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol, and other agencies.
