The traffic revision is for Friday, August 9th, 2024. The traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. This is expected to be a one-day project.

Through traffic will detour via Aldergrove Rd, Vista Dr, and Thornton St. The closure is in effect 7 day per week, 24 hours a day for the duration of the project.

Near 5142 LaBounty Drive, between Smith Road and Slater Road

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic near 5142 LaBounty Drive between Smith Road and Slater Road. The traffic revision is in effect Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

This one-day project is associated with a private development project.

Main St. Lane Closures near the intersection of Main St. and Hovander Rd.

Drivers should expect delays on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, as lane closures and restrictions are put in place near the intersection of Main St. and Hovander Rd.

Main Street

10am – 1pm                   Eastbound Lane and Sidewalk Closures
1pm – 4:30pm              Westbound Lane and Sidewalk Closures

1-2 lanes of Main Street (including sidewalks) between Hovander Rd. and Walgreens will be closed at a time. Which specific lanes are open/closed will shift throughout the project. Traffic on Main St. will be lane shifted through the closure zone and assisted by flaggers.

The left turn from Main St. onto Hovander Road will be open to standard vehicles.

The left turn from Main St. onto Hovander Road will be closed to large trucks. Large trucks wanting to turn left onto Hovander Road must instead loop through downtown and approach the turn from the west (right turn) side.

At times, the right turn lane from Hovander Road onto eastbound Main Street may be closed.

Sidewalks in the work zone will be closed and signage will direct pedestrians around the work zone. Flaggers will be on site directing traffic through the work zone.

This one-day closure is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th. This closure is for work associated with a BNSF Railway Bridge inspection.

City of Ferndale Infrastructure Maintenance & Repairs
The City of Ferndale will be performing infrastructure maintenance and repairs in downtown Ferndale on Monday, May 6th and Tuesday, May 7th, 2024. Work hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm each day.

Expect slowdowns as traffic is lane shifted around the work zones. Work should not affect access to businesses adjacent to the work zones.

Hatton Pl near Thornton St. CLOSED to through traffic from Wednesday, April 10th – Thursday, April 11th

Residents should plan for inconveniences as a small section of Hatton Pl will be closed to through traffic near 6088 Hatton Pl on Wednesday, April 10th and Thursday, April 11th. The only residential driveway inside the closure zone is at 6088 Hatton Pl. This resident will have continued access to their driveway/home throughout the closure.

The closure is expected to last for two days.

Thornton St. near Pacific Heights Dr. CLOSED from Monday, April 1st – Friday, April 5th

Drivers should plan to detour as Thornton Street will be CLOSED near the intersection with Pacific Height Drive for the week of April 1st – April 5th.  The detour route around the closure uses Church Rd, Main St/Mountainview Rd, and Olson Rd.

Sidewalks on both sides of the street will be closed inside the work zone. This closure occurs during school spring break so should not impact school routes.

The traffic revision is expected to last for one week, Monday, April 1st – Friday, April 5th from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily.

Thornton St. at Pacific Heights Dr.

Drivers should expect slowdowns as the south lane of Thornton St. will be closed and both eastbound and westbound traffic will shift near the intersection of Thornton St. and Pacific Heights Dr. During this stage of the project work will block the intersection at Thornton and south Pacific Heights Dr. Residents of this section of Pacific Heights Dr. will take a short detour using Captains Way.

Sidewalks on the south side of Thornton St. will be closed and pedestrians will be directed to sidewalks on the north side of the street.

The traffic revision is expected to last for one day, Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Work in this area will continue from March 11th through March 22nd. The specifics of upcoming traffic revisions will be posted as they become available.
